Knitting Pattern: Sun and Moon Sweater Size One Year
Knitting Pattern: Sun and Moon Sweater Size One Year
This is a PDF instant file.
This is a pattern for a hand knit sweater for a one year old child.
This is from my husband's unpublished book The Undeniable Kingdom, from a scene in which the young protagonist's mother is describing sweaters she'd made for him.
On the front a hand of God is holding the sun in the sky. The bright light and rays shine down on a small country village of tiny white and black houses. On the back, the same hand holds the moon with gray rays shining down onto another small village.
The sleeves have the sun and rays, and the moon and the darkening blue sky.
The neck has trim in shades of dark blue and shades of blue stripes. The wrists and hem have dark blue and shades of green stripes.
Pattern has written directions and full color charts to enlarge. The pattern assumes a good knowledge of knitting, or at least an adventurous spirit and a knitting guidelines book. Obviously other color combinations are possible.
Have fun!

My patterns are meant to be knit fearlessly, changing details as desired. You can omit background details to simplify the picture, or you can change colors freely to suit your intended recipient.
I do have a strange gauge for the size needles I use, so IT IS CRUCIAL that you match the gauge to your own knitting style. Have fun!
