Knitting Pattern: Totoros Adult Small
Knitting Pattern: Totoros Adult Small
This is a PDF instant file.
This is a pattern for a handknit sweater for an adult Totoro lover.
This pattern is inspired by Hayao Miyazaki's movie My Neighbor Totoro. On the front are two small Totoros. On the back the large Totoro is waiting for a bus in the rain. The identical sleeves have the ears of the littlest Totoro peeking from flowers, with a volcano in the background. The sleeves and hem trim have two patterns: the soot spirits in black on blue, and red ladybugs on darker blue. The neck, wrists and hem trim is black and variegated blue alternating stripes. The eyes are sew on.
This pattern has written directions, materials lists, and full color charts to enlarge. The pattern assumes a good knowledge of knitting, or at least an adventurous spirit and a knitting guidelines book. Obviously other color combinations are possible.
Have fun!

My patterns are meant to be knit fearlessly, changing details as desired. You can omit background details to simplify the picture, or you can change colors freely to suit your intended recipient.
I do have a strange gauge for the size needles I use, so IT IS CRUCIAL that you match the gauge to your own knitting style. Have fun!
